Welcome To

Newport Beach

An opulent seaside city with world-class residential housing.

Welcome to Newport Beach

Among nature preserves, premier golf courses, gently sloping hills, and sublime shorelines, the city of Newport Beach rests like a glittering wellspring of class and luxury along the coast of Southern California. Just west of California State Route 73 and Irvine, Newport Beach is bisected in the north by the Upper Newport Bay, which flows in from the Pacific.

Before its incorporation in 1906, and even before its influx of settlers throughout the 19th century, Newport Beach was a prominent location for Native peoples. Now, the city has a bustling population of around 86,000 residents, which expands in the summer months as the seasonal tourist boom draws in anywhere between 20,000 and 100,000 visitors daily.

Charming multi-colored homes dot the cliff sides above the beach, epicurean estates offering resplendent views and plenty of amenities. Inland, you’ll find a range of multi-million dollar houses that include romantic, red-tiled Spanish Colonials, sleek contemporary new-builds, renovated bungalows, stunning beach houses right along the sand, and so much more.

What to Love

People & Lifestyle

Newport Beach is a high-end area, with a relatively even split between families and individuals, home-owners and renters. The majority of the population is well educated, and its proximity to towns like Irvine and Santa Ana makes it an ideal location for commuters. Known for its distinct “villages,” the area has plenty of character and charisma that radiates from the harbor to the quaint downtown shopping area.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

As would be expected from a chic and sophisticated town like Newport Beach, the area is full of upscale shopping opportunities and is the location of some of the best fine dining available in Orange County and the Southern California area. Just one of many classy shopping areas, at the Lido Marina Village, you’ll find a cornucopia of luxury boutique stores that include everything from high fashion, vintage women’s clothing, apothecaries, salons, home décor, and specialty stores.

Boasting Mexico’s finest foods and certainly living up to expectations, Javier’s serves up elevated Mexican cuisine at its intimate, private dining rooms, al fresco patios, and spectacular bar. Enjoy rare tequilas and hand-shaken, house-crafted margaritas with your meal and find out why everyone wants a table at Javier’s. At CUCINA enoteca, they’re blending Italy’s bold flavors with the fresh bounty of Southern California to create their from-scratch menus served in the bohemian-feeling restaurant setting.

Craving a mouth-watering wagyu steak, lamb chops, fresh lobster, sushi, or decadent veggies? Don’t miss out on a chance to dine in at Mastro’s Ocean Club and savor any one of their exquisite menu items. Those who need a little party atmosphere with their meals can check out The Beachcomber, a unique vintage cottage renovated to be a beachfront eatery specializing in award-winning classic Californian cuisine.

Things to Do

Although the city of Newport Beach is a paradise escape in and of itself, it also has plenty of opportunities to elevate your visit or vacation lifestyle through its lavish islands, festivals, and entertainment events. Take the ferry to Balboa Island and find a man-made haven of incredible shops and dining.

At Newport Beach, festival-goers can experience one of the fastest-growing film festivals in the nation, the Newport Beach Film Festival. This event is a hotspot for celebrity spotting and getting first-hand looks at some of the best up-and-coming directors, featuring films from over fifty different countries.
